Considered small by Top End standards the 57,000 hectare station "Florina Station" has been sold to an Australian Company with international interests.
The station is some 50 kms west of Katherine and has a 25 km fronatge to the start of the Daly River plus a small water licence of 1,000 mgl per annum allowing the opportunity to be developed into irrigated crops. Currently some 200 hectares is cleared for hay production.
The stations access to water was a strong drawcard for the purchasers who are making their first foray into the top end beef market.
The sale included some 1,500 Brahman breeders plus 60 bulls and whilst no sale price has been released the station was listed for sale at $8m.
Marketing agent was Alison Ross of Elders Katherine who commented that the Northern Territory property market was very positive with strong buyer enquiry being received for the properties she currently has for sale.
