Description of Country

The house block has a very diverse cross section of soil and pasture types. Approx 30% of darker clay soil growing substantial bodies of Mitchell, Flinders, Neverfail and herbages. The balance is a mixture of mainly light sandy red type country timbered mainly with gidyea, mulga, eucalypt, whitewood, bloodwood and vine trees. Coolibah is the main type of timber, while natural sorghum, nut grass, blue bush and seasonal herbages make up the majority of the pasture along the creek systems. The Kell block has a mixture of timber, mulga and open downs country.
