Country: Eastfield is predominately red loam, Spinifex / Ironbark type country with areas of sweet black soil flats throughout the northern part of the property and running down through the middle of the property towards the south. It is very flat water – shed country with only a few small creeks running out on the western side of Eastfield. There is a natural lake area of approximately 350 hectares (865 acres) on the northern boundary. Grasses include desert bluegrass, forest Mitchell and other native grasses, forbs and herbages when in season. Mitchell & Flinders grass will grow out on the black soil flats following a good wet. There is a good spread of established Secca legumes and Buffel grass throughout the property. The major timber is Silver-leafed Ironbark with other timbers such as Desert Oaks, Bloodwood, Box, White Gums, Leopardwood, False Sandalwood, Mulga, Turpentine and various other tree and shrub species. Eastfield is prickly acacia free but has small areas of Parkinsonia around some dams.

Waters: The house bore was drilled in August 2013 to a depth of 471 metres and is steel cased. It is equipped with electric submersible that can pump at a rate of 1800 gallons per hour. Water is pumped into an overhead tank and is then gravity fed over the property through approximately 23 km of 63mm poly pipe to 4 tanks, 1 turkey nest and 17 troughs. The overhead tank also gravity feeds water to the house, yards and the holding paddocks close to the yards. There is a large dam at the house and a natural lake on the northern boundary that can hold water for up to 18 months once full.

Fencing: Eastfield is fenced into 7 main paddocks & 4 holding paddocks. The internal fencing is a mix of 3 barbs, single or double wire electric fence or 5 plain and 1 barb. They are in stock proof condition. The boundary fence is mostly 4 barbs and is in good stock proof condition.

Yards: There is a good set of cattle yards that will comfortably work 800 cattle. There is a 5 way draft, vet crush, calf branding cradle with a mixture of permanent steel post and rails or steel portable panels in the working area. The large holding yards are steel post, 2 rails and cable or portable panels. Water is connected to the yards.

Improvements: There is a low set house, double story house and two dongas all in need of attention. There is a 3 bay workshop / machinery shed, an old woolshed that has been converted into a storage shed. 1800 metre Airstrip.

Carrying Capacity: Owner estimates 500 breeders in an average season.
